It is mostly common in women as compared to men and can be seen in any age group.
So what is Cellulite?
It is usually caused by a buildup of fat underneath the skin though genetics plays a major role in it. Though the amount of cellulite visible on your body depends on your body fat percentage, genes and age. It becomes more visible as you age as your skin becomes thinner and loses its elasticity. It is mostly seen on:
- Hips
- Thighs
- Abdomen
- Buttocks
- Breasts
Major Cause for Cellulites are:
- Weight Gain
- Obesity
- Less Physical Activity
- Genetics
- Unhealthy or Poor Lifestyle
- Poor Diet
- Toxins in the body
- Hormonal Imbalance
They look like dimples on the skin and cover major areas like the back of thighs and abdomen. There are many topical treatments available which you may try but it’s not harmful and won’t cause you any problem apart from their appearance. People like me who are leading a healthy lifestyle, eating healthy food, sleeping well also have thighs due to genetics though they are not very dense but yes can be seen in proper light.
Treatments Include:
Dry Brushing: There are many brushes available for treatment of cellulite and when done on a regular basis they may help in reducing their appearance. The best time to do it is before bathing in the morning.
Creams: There are many creams available in the market to get rid of cellulite, all you have to do is massage your skin which is affected twice daily .
Exercising: Exercise has many benefits and can also help to reduce cellulite on your body. I have personally noticed the changes in my body and believe there is no harm trying it.
Coffee Massage: Massage those areas with coffee powder in circular motions. Do it before bathing as it is a bit messy but coffee also makes your skin supple along with that it can change the water content of the fat, which may reduce the appearance of cellulite.
These are my self help tips. There are many options available from the cosmetic industry which I don’t feel the need to discuss as I have never tried any of them but if you wish you can always try.
